Moraira Restaurant Guide
Moraira Restaurant Guide: To write an independent restaurant guide for Moraira and it’s surrounding area could take a lifetime. Some call it the gastronomic centre of the Costa Blanca. There are literally hundreds to choose from with good choice of food style and to suit all pockets. Famous, infamous, you name it, we have it all. I have therefore restricted the list to those restaurants I can personally recommend.
* denotes not to be missed, but this might be for overall value more than food quality.
* THE OLIVE TREE: Moraira – tel. 96 649 0655 – Mid price
Very good food and decor. British owned. 3 courses with wine approx €25, Great for special occasions. Excellent service. Must book.

Its on the Moraira to Calpe roa
LE DAUPHIN: 96 649 0432 Portet Bay Moraira – High price
Probably the best situated restaurant in Moraira, and maybe the Costa Blanca., overlooking Portet beach. Dine on the terrace in the summer with a fabulous views & a lovely sea breeze. The Swiss owners have a Michelin kitchen recommendation. It’s quite expensive for Spain , but for the location, and the quality of the food, its actually rather reasonable. About 60-70 euros a head for the food and the sky’s the limit for the wine. However you can buy nice quality wine for about 20-25 euros. There is no hard sell on the wine and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Well behaved children are often seen dining with parents.
* VERD I VENT: Jalon a Bernia 965973413 – Low Price, fabulous value
French country cooking at its best & fantastic value. Booking a must(they do close for some time during August) 4 course set meal with local wine from the vats, about €15 Superb atmosphere, rookerty old building with high ceilings. Wonderful .Note only choice of 2 main courses nearly always both meat. If not a meat eater you can pre-book a fish meal but the standard of the fish not like the meat main courses I’m afraid. If closed try the one opposite(don’t know the name but number is 609 725 356, supposed to be very good. Head towards Jalon then take left at roundabout follow signs to Carretara de Bernia. About 35 minute drive.
AMANTE : On Calpe rd near to Euro Gym . High Price, great for special occasions
Fabulous setting overlooking the sea. Excellent cuisine and service
*ENZO bar and restaurant:My absolute favourite! Great food , great hosts, lively atmos, right in center of town. must book, outside and inside tables
*FOOD BAR / Fabulous modern restaurante just on the way out of Moraira on the Calpe road. Great fish including lobster, oysters, mussels , sushi , meats
CASA CANTO: Benissa – tel. 965 730 629
Beautifully set good quality Spanish restaurant. Good menus of the casa from €28 including nice wine. Just pull up outside and the doorman will park your car! At certain times of the year they will drive your car home, so you don’t have to.
* LAS VEGAS TEULADA 96574 0341 – very reasonably priced
Menu del dia €14-20 (incl wine) if you arrive before 2pm for lunch.
Don’t confuse with the Las Vegas in Moraira which is a late bar. This one is in the Spanish town of Teulada at the top of Moraira valley. Can’t beat the value with 3 course menus starting from 12 euros to 18 euros. Excellent choice. Includes half bottle wine.
*DEGUST/ Moraira town centre 96 649 0808 med-high price
A very good established restaurant in a very good location. Impressive decor, modern style . Excellent food. Expect a bit of up-selling on the wine. About 50 euros per head.
MASENA: Benitachell to Javea rd – tel. 96 579 3764
Lovely restaurant. Food as good as the Dauphin, but the location makes it more reasonably priced. One of our favourites. Fabulous furniture shop next door. Children are welcome. They even have an enclosed play area. No children’s menu but they are happy for you to share or make a half portion. Maybe €50 per head with house wine. Well worth a visit. Full nearly every night of the week, even in winter. Must book.
KOSTA: NOW MOVED AND CALLED KOSTA DEL ORA Grilled meats and fish. Fabulous!!! Y Spotless and great service from Christian the host. You might wait a while at busy times but everything cooked fresh.

If you are planning a trip to Guadalest, then it’s a good idea to book a table either before you leave or on arrival in Guadalest in the morning. They are all typical Spanish. This one has nice views. window tables have lovely views). Easy to find.€20 per head.
MESON DE REFUGIO: Moraira town centre – Lowish price
Good value Spanish meson. Nice family. You can get a menu del dia for €16 including wine. It’s tucked away. As you go down the main street towards to sea, it’s up the last little alley way on the left hand side.
CA PEPE: Moraira (Sabatera) – tel. 965 74 33 11 – Calle Haya -Mid price
Beautifully appointed in a quiet residential road . You can dine outside in summer. Excellent Value Lunch menu del dia €16 with wine. Genuine great offer for quality of location and food.
L’ERA: Parcent – tel. 96 640 5298 – Low price about €12 per head incl. wine
Famous Paella restaurant. They don’t offer much else. They will do plain chicken a la plancha or pork but you have to tell them in advance or they will assume the whole table want paella. Fantastic noisy atmosphere. Lunchtimes only I believe. Frequented by Spanish mostly. A lovely drive through the Jalon Valley to get there. Worth the trip.
ALAHUAR Hotel & Restaurant: Benimaurell – tel. 96 558 3397
A bit of a drive inland, but worth it for the view. The hotel is 550metres above sea level. You could take a nice walk. Very peaceful. The food here is good value if you pick the Menu del dia approx €15. The a la carte is somewhat overpriced . Traditional Spanish with quite a good choice. Always includes a rice of the day. Head to Orba and follow signs for Vall de Laguar. Benimaurell and the hotel is literally at the roads end.
El Chimazo:Lovely setting with sea views. Very close to the beach. Stylish decor with tablecloths. Best paella in town in my opinion. Best to pre order it at busy times. Just on outskirts of Moraira near Plagetets beach. Great housewine and its only 10 euros a bottle! 96574 3090 must book!
BAR 11:Great bar/restaurant, especially for salads and fish. Great views of the castle and sea. Just chill and watch the world go by. Service a bit slow so you have to be patient.
RONDO: Benissa – tel. 96 649 7107
British owned. Very good but small menu. Nice romantic atmosphere. About €30, €
CHINESE RESTAURANTS – All very cheap
All pretty much the same. Take aways available.

An excellent night out. Teipan show every night. Great fun for all the family. The kids just stare with wonder! Great food too. About 35-50 euro set menu (unless you want sushi which puts quite a bit on the bill).
